ISLAMABAD: Interim Minister of Information Ali Zafar has said that the first session
of the General Assembly may be called on 13th or 14th August.
While speaking to the media in Islamabad, Ali Zafar interjected that according to the constitution it is ma
ndatory that the session
of the General Assembly be called on 15th August and hence it is plausible that the session will be called on either 13th or 14th August.
As the session will commence, the elections
of the Assembly Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Prime Ministe
r will be conducted.
The Information Minister further said that all independent candidates will be given the choice to join the party
of their choice, afterwards, the reserved seats for women and minorities will be decided on and then the Election Commission
will send a notification.
He also said that the nominated candidates must submit the details
of their expenditure on the elections within 10 days.
